Position title:   Audio Visual Technician

Classification: Part-time (10-15 hours); hourly, non-exempt

Reports to: The Pastor as Head of Staff and the Worship Elder

Purpose: To lead and serve with energy, imagination, and joy to fulfill TPC’s mission of inviting all people to build an active relationship with Jesus Christ. 

Summary:  To provide the church with necessary audio visual (AV) support for the ongoing ministries of Trabuco Presbyterian Church.  The AVT will help worship leaders, musicians, and volunteers to create a comfortable and dynamic worship experience.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee AV support for all worship services and church events that require it.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in an expeditious manner. 

• Schedule, train, and provide guidance to AV volunteers.

• Collaborate in the recruitment of volunteers.

• Attend staff meetings as needed.

• Coordinate with the worship team and music staff to establish a schedule for AV   equipment setup, sound checks, rehearsals, performance sound mixing, and related tasks.

• Communicate technical needs to the Worship Elder and Pastor.

• Manage all technical equipment and coordinate repairs, replacements, and upgrades as needed, maintaining accurate, up-to-date inventory records.

• Manage all worship service video exportation to third-party platforms

Educational Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Required
Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience 

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:  

• Experience in soundboard operation (live mixing, live stream audio)

• Strong working knowledge of audio equipment

• PTZ camera operation

• Live video directing

• Experience with ProPresenter required.

• Detail oriented

• Excellent communication skills

• Problem-solving skills
