FAQ's

Facilities

What has been done and what will be done in the future to sanitize/sterilize the church facilities?

A deep cleaning will be done prior to opening and will be continued weekly.  This includes all common surfaces such as light switches, door handles, and countertops.  Multiple hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the campus.

Will the congregation have to wear face masks?

Congregants will be asked to wear face coverings. Face coverings will be provided prior to each service (at the Welcome Table and at the Greeters Table near the sanctuary), or congregates may bring one from home.

Will we continue hosting special events like weddings and funerals?

Yes

Will we continue allowing outside organizations to use our facilities?

This is yet to be determined by session.  If approved, we will hire extra cleaning and pass this expense to the organization requesting to use of our facility.

Sunday Worship Service

Will we still have Ushers and Greeters? If so, will they perform their jobs differently?

Yes, Greeters and Ushers will still be needed but will be trained in new procedures. Greeters will welcome, direct and be available to answer questions.  Name tags will no longer be provided. Ushers will be trained in how and where to seat congregants.

How will seating be different to allow for social distancing?

Every other pew will be roped off and each pew will be labeled with the number of people that can safely sit in the pew while maintaining 6 ft. social distancing.

What adjustments will be made to communion, baptism, and offering?

Communion: Individual serving portions, all pre-wrapped

Baptism: To be determined

Offering: Offering plates will be located in various locations near exits in the sanctuary.  There will no passing of the plates.

How else will the Sunday Service be different?

There will be a limited amount of congregants safely allowed in the sanctuary during service.  Additional seating with monitors will be available outside and in the MPR.

What is the plan for Sunday School?

In our initial first phase of regathering there will be no Sunday School or child care offered. Those will come at a later date to be determined.

Will we continue to have coffee and donuts on the patio?

There will be no coffee or donuts in the first stage of reopening. However, at a later time this will be added back with one person wearing gloves serving coffee, and an additional person wearing gloves distributing donuts.

What about Fellowship time on the patio?

This is allowed as long as there is social distancing. No patio tables or chairs will be set up initially.

Are we investing in new digital equipment?

Yes. We will continue to live streaming weekly. This has been especially beneficial for our members who are not yet comfortable returning to worship in person or for those not feeling well.

Will our Praise Band be affected and will congregational singing still be allowed?

Congregants will not be allowed to sit in the front row pews in the sanctuary to allow proper distance from the Praise Band and speakers at the podium.  Singing will be allowed with congregants wearing face coverings.
